. Mission San Xavier del Bac September 23 // 10:26AM San Xavier Reservation // Arizona . I was in the area because I wanted to make some images of the Saguaro cactuses in the area. I pictured them standing tall against a sunset like I'd seen so many times before. Though, the images I leave with are rarely the ones I go in search of. . It was rounding mid-day and I had a rough shooting session at sunrise, I just wasn't able to make a composition. I was tired and feeling a bit down about the failure that morning. I decided to try to make some images of something completely different. . I landed at the doors of Mission San Xavier del Bac, a 225 year old Spanish Catholic Mission location just outside of Tucson. . The architecture was quintessential Spanish. The lines were clean and the long history was apparent as I walked around the property. The white stucco of the mission sat against the puffy clouds in the sky and it was a perfect, dramatic mix. As I walked out, I grabbed this shot of the arch that leads into the courtyard. It really brings you back to the old west and the way things were here 200 years ago.
